Ahmun Concept 01 - Blue Guardian

Hello people! A new coloured image of the Ahmun, one of the alien races from my setting. As with the last one, most of the work (the brilliant lineart and detail) was done by

Anyhow, um, yes! This individual is probably on guard duty while the other members of the clan sleep during the day.

As you can see from this version of the design, they actually have necks now, and the colouration blends together more (if you look closely, however, you can see numerous variations in detail and colour). The exoskeleton is designed to harden as well, around the tips of the claws, 'shoulder pads' and teeth, which is hopefully reflected in the colours.

There is also a lack of the 'external veins' from before (though the lineart had them originally): after further review, I realized that they didn't actually serve any functional purpose. ^_^;

But, um, yes. There's still markings in the exoskeleton, ridges and such, but those are simply distortions in the exoskeleton, much like birth marks or freckles or some such on a human.

Also, the creature is more blue! I like blue.

...

And yes, one of the original inspirations for the design was the heartless from Kingdom Hearts. You are not the first person to point this out to me.
